Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) address information search.
!ip6 analyzes IPv6 addresses and retrieves detailed information about their ownership, routing, registry allocation, geolocation, and DNS-related metadata. This command is designed for investigating global unicast, link-local, unique-local, and other special purpose IPv6 addresses in the context of internet routing, security analysis, and diagnostics.
IPv6 addresses operate at OSI Layer 3 (Internet Layer) and are used for routing, addressing, and global connectivity. This command retrieves RIR allocation data, prefix ownership, ASN origin, BGP routing metadata, geolocation hints, reverse DNS hostnames, IP reputation indicators, hints from the whois information registries and provides hints to other IP related information.
For any IPv6 Address see the managing Internet RIR, geographical location, organization, short and long forms, IPv6 address type, allocation and designation data, pointers to the appropriate RFCs, the BGP Autonomous System Number, the announced route prefix, the IP address in base10 or base2, and pointers-hyperlinks to more relevant information.
Usage:
